Auro-3D is an immersive 3D audio format. It is designed along three layers of sound (surround, height and overhead ceiling), building on the single horizontal layer used in the 5.1 sound format. Auro-3D creates a spatial sound field by adding a height layer around the audience on top of the traditional 2D surround sound system. This additional layer reveals both localized sounds and height reflections complementing the sounds that exist in the lower surround layer. The height information that is captured during recording is mixed into a standard 5.1 surround PCM carrier, and during playback the Auro-3D decoder extracts the originally recorded height channels from this stream.
With Dolby Atmos, sound comes alive from all directions, including overhead. The format combines a channel-based audio bed with object-oriented sound to place and move specific effects around the theater, creating a breathtakingly realistic and captivating sonic atmosphere. Sound designers and artists are free to mix in a 3D space, steering effects through surround channels and adding a seamless overhead dimension with discrete height channels. In commercial theaters, it supports up to 128 audio tracks and 64 unique speaker feeds. The home theater adaptation automatically scales to your surround configuration.

With DTS technology, even the smallest screens will sound huge.
DTS HD Master Audio
DTS-HD Master Audio is capable of delivering audio that is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master. DTS-HD Master Audio delivers audio at super-high variable bit rates 24.5 Mbps on Blu-ray Disc which is significantly higher than standard DVDs. This bit stream is so fast, and the transfer rate is so high, that it can deliver 7.1 audio channels at a sampling frequency of 24 bits identical to the original. With DTS-HD Master Audio, you will be able to experience movies and music exactly as the artist intended: clear, pure, and uncompromised.
DTS HD High Resolution Audio
DTS HD High Resolution Audio can deliver up to 7.1 channels of sound that is virtually indistinguishable from the original. THX Loudness Plus
THX Loudness Plus is a volume control technology featured in THX Ultra2 Plus and THX Select2 Plus Certified pre-amps, integrated systems and receivers. With THX Loudness Plus, home theater audiences can now experience the rich details and ambient sound in a surround mix at any volume level.
THX Re-EQ is a compensation technology taking soundtracks that are mixed for large cinemas, where speakers are placed farther away from you, and re-establishes the accurate tonal balance for your close range home theater speakers. Without THX Re-EQ, higher frequencies sound excessively “edgy” or “bright.” With THX Re-EQ, the movie soundtrack is true to the original immersive cinematic experience.
THX Timbre Matching
Due to location, the tonal quality of the perceived sound coming from the side surround speakers is changed in relationship to the sound coming from the front speakers. This is because the outer ear, called the pinna, contours the frequency response of a sound depending upon its direction. The result is two conflicting sound fields – a front and a surround. THX Timbre Matching technology solves this sound field problem by actually acting as an electronic pinna, restoring and integrating the perceived frequency match between the front and surround speakers. This technology allows you to be placed in the center of the onscreen action with smooth, rich surround sound.
THX Adaptive Decorrelation
Many movie soundtracks have a mono surround track – especially those recorded prior to 1993. If you are sitting closer to one surround speaker than the other, the sound collapses to the one side instead of accurately immersing you in the onscreen action. THX Adaptive Decorrelation subtly adjusts one surround channel’s time and phase relationship with respect to the other surround channel. With THX Adaptive Decorrelation the listening position is expanded, providing you with the same spacious audio experience as in a movie theater.
